Hey there inner demons it’s me your therapist

Erin Roach (she/they)

m.ed, rp, ccc

clinical supervisor, owner

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor.

I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies.

I identify as a queer person and specialize in working with members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I also work frequently with clients belonging to the polyamorous and kink communities.

I am supervised by Yena Bi (https://www.ybcounselling.com/).

Important note: At this time, due to insurance reasons, I do not see clients who are located, even temporarily, outside of Canada.

I am not currently accepting new clients, nor am I actively maintaining a waitlist at this time. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in meeting with one of my supervisees or student(s).

Therapeutic modalities

I specialize in working through attachment and embodiment-focused therapies, which means that I want to attune to your experiences and help you better understand what you’re feeling and why. I have completed the NARM® Therapist Training, which focuses on increasing adult consciousness, capacity, and agency, as a means of healing attachment wounds and better navigating feelings and interpersonal issues. I also have a certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy, which explores using your body sensations to track and regulate your emotions, as well as understanding where our reactions come from.

Furthermore, I have training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, from which I pull pieces as appropriate, but my general approach to therapy is more around understanding the roots of present experiences through what we call “depth oriented models,” and less around symptom management.
