Nadya bissonnette
M.Ed, Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, my name is Nadya. I’m a registered psychotherapist based in the Ottawa region, offering services in both French and English. I provide virtual and in-person sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I aim to create a collaborative, open, and supportive space where you feel comfortable showing up as you are. I approach my work with compassion, curiosity, and a non-judgmental mindset, and I value building a genuine, trusting connection with each person I meet.
I work with individuals aged 15 and older who may be navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, motivation difficulties, life transitions, trauma, interpersonal relationship difficulties, and LGBTQ+ related concerns. I also work with couples to strengthen communication, deepen connection, and move through life’s changes together. EMDR is part of my practice as well, offering a way to process and heal from distressing or painful experiences.
I use an integrative approach, drawing from humanistic, CBT, EFT, solution-focused, Gottman, and EMDR modalities. This allows us to shape our sessions in a way that feels most helpful and relevant to you. As a person-centered therapist, I check in regularly to ensure our work together aligns with your goals and evolving needs.
Julia Maiorino
M.A., Registered Psychotherapist
It is my goal to provide my clients with a warm, nonjudgmental and honest environment where they can feel most comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions and troubles. Much of my experience comes from working in mental health at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I have a passion for working with adolescents and adults as they develop the courage to explore their vulnerabilities on their journey towards wellness and fulfilment. My experience has allowed me to develop skills in working with depression, anxiety, grief, issues related to sexuality, emotional regulation, social fears and phobias, self-esteem and suicidal ideation.
I also have much experience working in spiritual and cultural care with the indigenous community and with the LGBTQ community. I do not underestimate the power of trust in the therapeutic relationship and utilize Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
I commit to keep up with the latest research and provide the best possible care to my clients. It is my objective to create an environment of mutual trust where my clients can feel free to express themselves and set goals as steps on their path towards wellness and fulfilment.
