ash Laroche (they/them)
master’s student (counselling psychology), intern
Ash is a Master’s-level student offering low-cost counselling for individual adults.
Interested in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, those living with ADHD and Autism, as well as anyone dealing with depression and anxiety.
Queer-identifying, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed.
Session fee: $20-$75/session
In ash’s words:
“When I first came out, I didn't have anyone to help me understand my newly discovered identity. I had support, but none had the lived experiences of a queer person. Lost and uncertain, I reached out and found a therapist who was not only queer-supporting, but queer themself. Having experienced counselling from someone in the queer community, the depth of understanding and connection is unparalleled. This is an experience I particularly wish to pay forward to my fellow LGBTQIA+ community members. Anyone struggling with themself is welcome.
Regardless of whether you've just discovered your queerness or simply wish to explore its facets further, my goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental space for you to do so.
My approach is to provide empathetic space for you to explore your concerns. Therapy is a collaborative process, with counsellor and client working together to best suit your needs. Anyone who wishes to gain from therapy has the capacity to do so.
As a student psychotherapist, I am looking to provide an integrative approach; borrowing from multiple counselling theories to best meet and support clients where they are.”
