In laurie’s words…

“Therapy is a collaborative and compassionate process during which you, as the client, determine the pace and direction and establish the goals based on your needs and concerns. I am an empathetic and caring listener, who will facilitate the process to find ways to reduce your stress, manage your symptoms, and move toward more positive mental health. I have worked with many different people throughout my career in education and aim to do the same in counselling with a focus on LGBTQ2S+ and neurodivergent individuals and clients with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, attachment distress, low self-worth, for example.

As a deeply empathetic and open-minded person, I adhere to a client-centred model and creating an integrative therapeutic approach to best meet your needs will be my primary priority. I have learned and practiced many theoretical interventions, such as those related to attachment, Solution-focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive approaches.”
